Anne Savage Biography

Anne Savage: Pioneering DJ, Producer, and Noise Safety Advocate

Anne Savage has been a driving force in the global dance music scene for over three decades. A true trailblazer from the UK, her journey began at illegal raves during the early-90s free-party movement. From her early residency at Angels in Burnley alongside artists such as Carl Cox and Joey Beltram to appearances at the legendary ARK events with Sasha, Tony De Vit, and Laurent Garnier, Anne quickly established herself as a commanding and technically exceptional DJ with a distinctive musical identity.

Renowned for her precision mixing and fearless versatility, Anne’s sets span hard dance, trance, techno, and breakbeat, reflecting both her roots and her continued evolution as an artist. With more than 100 releases across influential labels including Tidy, Nukleuz, Riot, Traffic and Goodgreef, she remains one of the defining figures in the hard dance movement. Her Tidy Girls EP stands among the best-selling hard house releases of its era and continues to influence new generations of producers and DJs.

Across her career, Anne has performed at many of the world’s most respected festivals and events, including Miami Winter Music Conference, ULTRA (USA), Dance Valley (Netherlands), and major UK festivals such as Glastonbury, Beat-Herder, Secret Garden Party and Creamfields. She has also played an important role in Ibiza’s clubbing legacy with appearances at iconic venues including Privilege, Space and Amnesia, while continuing to perform internationally across Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and beyond.

Based in Aberdeen, Anne remains an active touring artist whose reputation for high-energy, expertly crafted sets continues to resonate with both long-time fans and new audiences alike. Her influence has been recognised through appearances in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs and national press recognition including The Independent’s Top UK DJ listings. Alongside performing, she has also worked across broadcast media, presenting for BBC, MTV Europe, MTV Dance, Rapture and Sky One, and hosting her own show on Ministry of Sound Radio. ?
Away from the booth, Anne is equally respected for her commitment to artist welfare and education. A passionate advocate for hearing protection and long-term health in club culture, she continues her work supporting noise-safety awareness initiatives within the music industry while pursuing advanced academic research in the field. Her advocacy is helping shape safer working environments for DJs, musicians and event professionals worldwide.

Anne’s fearless energy extends beyond music into motorsport, where she has competed in Supermoto racing and supported championship development in Scotland—another reflection of the determination and drive that define her career both on and off stage.
